Gwen Carter

A graduate of Embers Academy, Gwen credits her faith and the Embers’ community as fundamental components to her return – now as faculty member – in 2024. Gwen graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Education from the University of Dallas where she focused on classes in children’s literature and child development. Gwen has worked at an Opus Dei center, learning the important balance between faith, family, and work, and spent many hours in the Dallas public school system studying the effects of technology on a student’s ability to learn. At Embers, Gwen is excited to incorporate the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd program into her students’ education.

Gwen is a music enthusiast through piano and vocal expression. She enjoys spending time outdoors, sketching trees, flowers, and birds. Gwen often writes small poems about God, nature, and family, and feels that poetry is very similar to prayer. She is a member of St. Mary of the Angels Parish.
