Lilian Mikan

Kindergarten Teacher

After graduating from Northeastern Illinois University with a Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood Education and a minor in Teaching English as a Second Language, Lili began her teaching career at Our Lady of Perpetual Help as a Preschool teacher and Early Childhood Director. In 2021, she came to Embers after seeing the love of faith that faculty and families share. This environment spoke to her as both a place where she wanted to work, and as the school she felt confident enrolling her own children, who are now past, present, and future Sparks! In her classroom, Lili believes it is through faith and virtue that each child can grow academically and spiritually. She loves coming up with new ways of learning such as watching frogs grow from tadpoles, or “flying” to different continents around the world with her students.

Outside of the classroom, Lili enjoys fun events with her family, including game and movie nights. She loves to cook and is always willing to try out a new recipe! Lili and her family attend Blessed Aloysius Stepinac Church in Chicago.
