Fall Seminar

Parents often struggle to balance their children’s digital desires and healthy guidelines. Please join us for Parenting in the Digital Age, an insightful – and practical! – presentation at Northridge Preparatory School where featured speakers Niall Fagan, Headmaster at Northridge, and Dr. Joshua Williams, Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist, will provide perspective on this challenging field.

This event is open to all families at Embers Academy, Willows Academy, and Northridge, as well as our greater community. Feel free to invite your friends! We hope you can make this a date night and attend as a couple for a lively evening of wine, cheese, and conversation. Limited babysitting will be provided on site for $25/family; register early to ensure availability.

Order in the Classroom

Mr. Covington’s fourth grade class made posters showcasing the order of how to make or do something.

This exercise is a great reminder to “check in” on September’s virtue, Order. How is order going in your home? Have your students been making their bed and checking off the virtue calendar? Every day is a new opportunity to succeed!

National Playdough Day

Students in 4th grade and Kindergarten celebrated National Playdough day together on September 16th. The playdough was handmade that morning by our very own 4th grade students. (Who knew cake frosting could be so versatile!)

Multilingual Bibles Needed

We are hoping to expand our offering of mutilingual bibles in the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Chapel. With our diverse community, it is our hope to include as many languages as possible, even Braille! If you have an extra foreign language bible at home and would like to donate it for use in our chapel, please send attn: Ms. Ullman.

Basketball
Basketball registration will go out this week, but first we need 4th grade coaches. Previous coaching experience not needed – just a love of the game! Email Mr. Sadlowski if you are able to lead a 4th grade team.

Cross Country
Congrats to our entire cross country team, and especially the boys group for taking 2nd at last week’s meet!

Water Science

The second graders performed a science lesson this week on the path water takes. By spraying water on paper mountains they were able to predict and observe how the the blue ink descend the “mountain”.

As a reminder, everyone is required to change their Username on the myEmbers! platform by Tuesday, September 27. If this update is not completed by September 27th, you will no longer have access to myEmbers! (which includes your student’s classroom information, grades, and report cards).
