Admissions
Embers Academy is committed to an admissions process that reflects the mission and values of our school. We welcome new families who share our vision and are seeking our wholesome school environment for their children.

Step One: Fill out an Inquiry Form and Visit our Campus
Click here to fill out an online inquiry form. Someone from our Admissions Office will be in touch with you to schedule a tour
Step Two: Schedule a Shadow Day
Schedule a day for your child to visit Embers. This is a great opportunity for your child to socialize with their peers and spend some time in the classroom. To schedule a Shadow Day, please call 847-518-1185 or email admissions@embersacademy.org.
Step Three: Complete and Submit an Application
Please click here to access our online application and create a myEmbers account. All applications must be accompanied by a $50 application fee, payable online by checking account withdrawal or credit card payment.
Step Four: Transcripts and Recommendation Form
A completed Transcript Records Release Form must be submitted to your current school. This form allows your current school to send records directly to Embers. If your child has attended more than one school, a separate form must be completed for each school.
An Applicant Recommendation Form can be found on your myEmbers portal and should be filled out by your child’s current teacher. Only one recommendation is required. The Recommendation Form must be forwarded to your child’s teacher through your myEmbers portal.
Step Five: Schedule a Parent Interview and Student Assessment
The final step of the application process will be for you and your child to come in for a brief interview with the Head of School. Depending on the age of your child, academic assessments may be administered to determine proper class placement. Once a completed application and supporting documents have been received you will be contacted by someone from the Admissions Office to schedule an interview and student assessment.
What’s next?
After a prospective student and family have successfully completed the application process, the Admissions Office carefully reviews each candidate. We do everything we can to gain a complete and fully-dimensional understanding of your child as a student and a person. Every piece of the application is considered valuable and important; no one test score, grade, or comment is weighted more heavily than any other.

Embers Academy is committed to an admissions process that reflects the mission and values of our school. We welcome new families who share our vision and are seeking our wholesome school environment for their children. Financial constraints should never prevent a family from providing their children with an Embers education. As such, our need-based tuition assistance process makes it possible for all qualified students to attend Embers. Tuition assistance is intended to supplement a family’s own resources, and recipients range from families whose ability to pay school costs is extremely limited, to families who may need only a minor subsidy to meet our tuition requirements.
The request for Tuition Assistance will be made available once an enrollment contract has been issued.
Notes on Tuition Assistance:
- Please note that all supporting tax and other documents should be sent to SmartAid directly, not to Embers. Supporting documentation is required and your application will not be considered complete until its submission.
- Documentation Required: 2020 tax return, including 2020 W-2
- Documentation Requested, but not Required: 2021 W-2
- For all new students, applications for grants, along with supporting documentation, are due within 10 days of admissions acceptance.
