Annual Fund Update

Thank you to those who have generously contributed to Embers Annual Fund! We are almost there! We have raised $106,227 so far. Together we can surpass our goal! 

Please help us continue to ‘Spark the Future’ by educating and developing many more young boys and girls. Embers Academy educates both the mind and the heart, forming young people, enlightened by God’s truth, who are firm in faith and filled with hope. Together we are forming the next generation to become responsible adults who are prepared to make a real and lasting difference in the world.

Grand Raffle Update
Classroom Contest #1

The grade that turns in the highest percentage of tickets by February 11 receives an Out-of-Uniform Day and a Pizza and Ice Cream Party!

Week 1 Results:
Third Grade = 10%
Second Grade = 7%
Fourth Grade = 6%
First Grade = 4%
5th Grade = 3%
Kindergarten = no tickets sold yet
PreK = no tickets sold yett.

Invention Convention

The Fifth Grade class held their Invention Convention last Friday. Each student invented a creation of their own that solves a problem. The students also wrote essays, persuasive posters, and made models of their inventions. They demonstrated their creations and tried to persuade visitors to “buy” their inventions.

Second Grade Projects

The Second Grade Class completed their unit on the Civil War with a variety of projects:

Stick puppets of favorite figures of the Civil War.

A board game complete with questions and answers about the Civil War.

A book about the Civil War.

The Fifth Graders joined the Second Graders to practice cursive writing in shaving cream.

Call for Supplies

We are running low on necessary items. Please consider donating the supplies listed below. We appreciate your generosity! 

  • Kindergarten/5th grade: Paper towels

  • 1st grade: Baby wipes 

  • 2nd grade/4th grade: Kleenex 

  • 3rd grade: Disinfecting wipes

Recess Volunteers Needed!

Dads Discuss the Faith

Calling all Embers Dads!

Join us Tuesday evenings from 6 – 7 p.m. for an evening of discussion.

  • Where: Northridge Prep, 8230 Ballard Rd., Niles, IL

Refreshments will be offered 30 minutes before each session. Topics presented by Dr. Stephen Smith, Hillsdale College and Dr. Warren Diem, Northridge Prep.

The CGS approach is also part of the faith formation program at Embers for students in PreK – 2nd grade.
