    “SPARK” NOTES

PK4-5th CHRISTMAS CONCERT

Over 400 families and friends enjoyed Embers Christmas Concert last night at NRP.  Special thanks to Ms. Brochu for the beautiful program which included singing, poems, kazoos, candles, and a sing-along.

CONGRATS MRS. LEDDEN

Mrs. Ledden received the 2017 Teacher Award from Embers Grandparents Club President, Mr. Larry O’Neill, for being an exemplary teacher, both spiritually and academically. Congratulations, Mrs. Ledden! We are so blessed that you are teaching our 5th grade students.

THANK YOU!  PARENT ASSOC.

Embers is so blessed to have the most wonderful parents! Thank you, Embers Parent Association, for going above and beyond all expectations with a wonderful assortment of goodies for everyone to enjoy after the Christmas concert.

COOKIES WITH SANTA

All the preschool children enjoyed their special visit with Santa on Monday.

KINDERGARTEN FUN!

Kindergarten students had a lot of fun on their lasts 3 school days before vacation. Special thanks to their Room Moms who planned great activities on Monday for their Christmas party. The fun continued on Tuesday. They shared activities with the 1st graders and then the 4th grade students. K and 1st students enjoyed crafts and games together, including pin the heart on the Grinch! Then the 4th graders played games and read Christmas stories to all the K students. They finished the week by watching a Christmas movie with the 1st grade students today and completed their ‘Christmas Around the World’.

ADVENT CHAINS

Each classroom constructed their own Advent Chain, created from works of virtue in and out of the classroom. The whole school gathered in the Assembly Room this morning to connect all of the chains into one giant Embers Advent Chain! The students were thrilled to see how many kind actions and good choices were happening at Embers since the start of Advent!

We will continue this practice of creating a record of our students’ acts of kindness and virtue with the ‘Charity Chain Challenge’. Beginning January 8th, students can report acts of charity, virtue, or kindness that they observe in their classmates or adults at Embers. We will announce the goal for January when students return to school on January 8th. If we reach the goal by the end of the month, we will have a special all-school celebration. We are proud of how our Sparks display virtue and kindness to others around them!

ANNUAL FUND GIFT

A very special thank you to the families that have already donated to Embers Annual Fund. New this year, donations can be made online, through ‘GIVING’ on our website, www.embersacademy.org, or by returning the donation envelope. Our goal is 100% participation from all Embers families, whether it’s $5 or $5000. Every donation is important and makes a difference! Please prayerfully consider being a part of this important mission. Thank you!

NOTE: The class that has the most families participating in the Annual Fund will win a pizza party!
