Preschool Co-Teacher (PK4) & Extended Day Program (EDP) Coordinator

Katie graduated from Providence College with a dual degree B.A. in Elementary & Special Education, followed by a M.A. in Learning Disabilities from Montclair State University. Prior to working at Embers, she served as a K-8 Special Education teacher in New Jersey and a Preschool teacher in the Glen Ellyn and Wheaton Park Districts. In addition, Katie has been the after school program director at her home parish, St. James the Apostle in Glen Ellyn, since 2013. An Embers educator since 2022, Katie’s classroom instruction emphasizes the importance of executive functioning skills while instilling independence.

Outside of the classroom, Katie enjoys reading mysteries and spending endless hours at the beach with her husband and five children.
