Kimberly Eckert

1st Grade Teacher

Kimberly believes that Embers embodies all that education should be: God first, family second, followed by work and relationships with friends. It is a beautiful way for children to learn and for teachers to teach, which is why Kimberly has been a member of the Embers faculty twice: from 2005-2012, before her children were born, and again beginning in 2024. After receiving her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Kimberly completed her Masters of Arts in Teaching (Elementary Education) from National-Louis University. Over the years, she has often been involved in education, including working as a Religious Education teacher, associate teacher, and substitute teacher, in addition to being a Stay-at-Home Mom. Kimberly is an avid volunteer, assisting with room parents, book fairs, and many parent-teacher organizations. She encourages her students to work toward being saints in their work, behavior, and attitudes, and enjoys being in a school and surrounded by other families who share those goals!

Kimberly and her husband have three children, including two Embers students and a daughter at Willows Academy. She loves gardening, specifically her vegetable and berry gardens, and maintains an impressive seed collection! She enjoys baking and crafting with her daughter, and playing chess and Legos with her sons. The Eckert family are members of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Volo, IL and St. James Catholic Church in Arlington Heights, where Kimberly enjoys going to Adoration and praying the Rosary with her family.
