All completed summer packets and forms must be submitted to your child’s teacher on Tuesday, Sept. 7th.  Exceptions cannot be made.  Please contact Mrs. Thursby with any questions. All students who complete the math packet will participate in the Summer Math Celebration and all students who complete the extra summer reading options will participate in the Summer Reading Celebration. Further details  about both of these celebrations will be provided in upcoming newsletters.

We are now accepting enrollment for Embers Athletes in Grades 3-5 for the Co-ed Cross Country Team. Sign up today!  First Practice is Wednesday, September 1st, 3:30-4:30 at Embers Academy.

Embers will be holding Parent-Teacher Conferences prior to the start of the school year. This helps us more effectively partner with parents in educating your children.

Please note that Parent-Teacher Conferences will be:

•  Thursday, September 2nd 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. 

Each conference will last 15 minutes. Parents will be able to  drop off school supplies at their conference time.

We have an abundant supply of paper towels, Kleenex, disinfecting wipes, hand sanitizer, index cards, loose leaf paper, and most sizes of Ziploc bags.

We ask that you not bring these items to school at this time. If you have already bought any of these items, we kindly request that you store them at home for the time being. 

We are still in need of:

• Ziploc XL bags to store extra clothing and winter gear in lockers.

We are aware that several uniform items are now on backorder when purchasing online. The Dennis Uniform store located at 7055 W. Higgins Avenue in Chicago is currently carrying a very limited inventory of Embers uniform pieces.
We hope that you are able to obtain your uniform pieces so your Spark can begin the school year ready to go!

UPDATED FEES for the Embers Before School and After School Care Program:

• Before School Care (7:30 – 8:00 a.m.) – $8.00 per student 

• Homework Club and After School Club (3:20 – 4:30 p.m.) – $10.00 per student

• After Club Care (4:30 – 5:30 p.m.) – $10.00 per student

Sequoia is a club for girls in 4th – 6th grades. Through talks and fun activities, girls develop virtues, leadership skills, and friendships.  The first meeting will be on October 2nd.
