School resumes Tuesday, September 5!

Mark your calendars for our Back to School Fair on Thursday, August 31, from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. This casual, open house-style event welcomes families to stop by during the afternoon and:
  • Visit the classrooms of your student(s)
  • Meet the teachers (Teacher assignments coming soon!)
  • Drop off school supplies
  • Stop by our lobby “Info Booths” to get information on myEmbers!, Parents Association, uniforms, and more!

Individual parent/teacher conferences will not be held during Fair. Students in our PK classes are asked to attend with their parents while attendance is optional for students in grades K-5.

Please note that teachers will not be discussing classroom instruction during the Back to School Fair. Educational information will be outlined at the parents’ only Curriculum Night, on Thursday, September 21.

We are excited to have our families back on campus!

Required Reading Reminder
 

Students have one month left to finish their required reading book for this fall. As a reminder, all students entering Kindergarten – 5th Grade have one required book to read this summer. These books will be discussed in class when students return in the Fall.

Are You Uniform Ready?
 

Children grow quickly! Now is a great time to ensure that your students have proper-fitting uniform pieces. Beginning with the first day of school, students must wear the required Embers school uniform.

There are two updates to our Dress Code this year:

  • Our “winter uniform” will run from October 15-April 15. During this time, shorts are not allowed and sweaters/vests are required as outlined in the dress code.
  • Students should bring rain boots on rainy days in order to play in wet areas. Those without rain boots will be required to stay on the blacktop, out of water. We hope our students can spend as much time outside as possible!

All uniform pieces are available for purchase through Dennis Uniform. Dennis provides several convenient ways to shop, including: in-store, by phone, and online, using School Code G24GV.

Gently Used Uniform Sale
 

We will be hosting a used uniform sale in our lobby from Tuesday, August 15 – Thursday, August 17 from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Stop by to peruse the gently used skirts, vests, and more that have been generously donated by our families. Donations are accepted by cash or check; donate what you are able!

Lunch Ordering

Embers’ Hot Lunch Program will again be provided by Marla’s Brown Bag Lunch Program. Marla’s partners with local vendors to provide fresh and delicious lunches that kids love to eat! Registration and ordering for Marla’s Brown Bag Lunch will open on Friday, August 11th. The first hot lunch date is Wednesday, September 6th. For more information, see the link below.

Daily Milk orders are available for students in PK (full day only) through 5th Grade at a cost of $.60/carton.  The total cost for the school year is $97.00, per child, which will be billed to your Smart Tuition account. Delivery begins Wednesday, September 5, 2023. Both 2% and Skim milk are available.

School supply lists are available on our website. Each supply list has been reviewed, and it is our hope that these smaller supply lists will allow us to be good stewards of your resources.
