Embers Parents Association’s annual Trunk or Treat will be held tomorrow, starting at 3:00 p.m. We hope you can join us for this FREE event! If we are rained out and need to cancel, an email will be sent by 9:00 a.m. Sunday.

Important Dates This Week:
Winter Uniform Begins Monday, October 16
Starting this Monday, all students are expected to adhere to the winter dress code which prohibits shorts and requires red sweaters/vests as outlined in the dress code requirements listed here.
Our Sparks have done a good job following the dress code, but we are asking for our parents’ help with a few items:
- Belts: all boys in grades K-5 must wear a navy or black belt with their school pants. Standard belts as well as magnetic and adjustable belts are acceptable in both canvas and leather materials.
- Socks (boys): boys must wear navy or black socks at least 2″ above the ankle with no logos.
- Socks (girls): girls must wear white or navy socks that are at least 2″ above the ankle, knee high, or tights.
- Gym Shoes: students should have one pair of gym shoes they can leave at school for gym days and recess.

All students should wear their uniforms, including red sweaters / vests – and best Spark smiles! – for their photos.

Monsters Love School…
…and so does 2nd Grade! In art class this month, our Sparks got into the Halloween spirit by recreating characters from one of their favorite books, Monsters Love School.

Well Done, Spark Soccer!
Congratulations to our Embers Soccer team on a great season. Our Sparks celebrated many highlights during the year, including a whopping 13-0 victory last Friday night!! It was wonderful seeing the team’s strengths grow as games progressed and we cannot wait to see what next season has in store.

Welcome, Little Spark!
Congratulations to the Beck family on the birth of their fourth daughter, Elizabeth (Libby) Mary. Libby was born last Sunday morning, weighing 9lbs. 4 oz. She joins her sisters, Nora (3rd Grade), Josie (PK3), and Gina (fellow future Spark!).

Embers’ Fire Choir will be performing in a “Patriotic Medley” before the Chicago Wolves game on Sunday, November 12. Friends and family are welcome to attend the game at a special price to see our Sparks perform; we will be sitting together in a block reserved directly behind the choir. Ticket requests must be received by this Friday, October 20. To purchase tickets, please print order form below and return to the school office.
