This revised date has been made with the understanding that many of our families will be celebrating the Sacrament of Confirmation on our original date. Please save this new date and look for more information in the coming months!

Extravaganza Filming Wednesday
On Wednesday, October 23, a professional crew will be on-site to film Extravaganza video footage. Please help your Sparks put their best foot forward by wearing their red sweaters & vests. We look forward to premiering these videos at the Extravaganza on Saturday, April 5!

The Silent Auction and Wine Pull are integral parts of the Extravaganza and your donations help us create an exceptional event.

Parent-Teacher Conferences
The PickATime sign-ups for Parent/Teacher Conferences are now available HERE. The scheduler will be open through 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 31.
Conferences will be held on Friday, November 1 from 9:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. Conferences are 15 minutes each and Grades 3-5 will have combined meetings with both teachers. These conferences are intended for parents only. Please note that there will be no school that day to accommodate conferences. Reading is Out of this World!
Embers Literacy Week 2024

Get ready to blast off to a week of fun during Embers’ 2024 Literacy Week, November 4-8, 2024! This year, we have many fan-favorites returning, in addition to some new literary adventures:

- D.E.A.R = Drop Everything and Read
Teachers will be providing time slots all week for students to D.E.A.R! Please make sure your students have a quality book to read that is appropriate for their reading levels.
- Bookmark Contest
All Sparks will be invited to participate in our annual Bookmark Contest. One winner will be selected per grade and each student will receive a bookmark with their grade’s winning design! Bookmark templates and instructions will be sent home Wednesday, October 30 and are due no later than Wednesday, November 6.
- “Race to Earth” Game
Students will bring home their “Race to Earth” reading game cards on Wednesday, October 30, full of fun ideas for reading at home. All Sparks who complete their game card and turn it in by Friday, November 8th will receive a treat that is out of this world!

All-School Picture Day
Friday, October 25
VIP Photography will be on campus this Friday to take school photos of all our Sparks. Students should wear their uniforms, including red sweaters or vests – and best smiles! – for their photos.
NEW: Picture Ordering
This year, there are no forms to complete and return to school. After picture day, all photos will be posted online for you to view and order. Look for an email sent to you by “Visual Image Photography” or go to vipis.com to access your student’s photos. All orders are delivered directly to your home!

Reminder: Extracurricular Pickup
We hope our Sparks are enjoying a busy Fall of extracurriculars. As a reminder, students leaving from all Extracurricular activities will be dismissed at the Red door on the North Breezeway. Parents must park in the North lot and walk to the assigned door for pickup. Thank you!

Fire Choir Returns to the Jumbotron!

3:00 Game Time
Embers’ Fire Choir once again returns to the Allstate Arena, this time as the featured entertainment during 2nd quarter intermission! Friends and family are welcome to attend the game at a special price of $18.50 to see our Sparks perform; we will be sitting together in a reserved block.

Ghosts and witches and creatures of fright, don’t miss the call of a Halloween night! Embers’ first Monster Mash will feature an inflatable obstacle course and slide, Halloween crafts and games, snacks, beverages, and lots of fun! Costumes are encouraged, but not required. Cost is $10/family, billed to your Blackbaud Tuition Management Account upon registration.

Join Us Thursday for Coffee & Convo
Coffee and Convo returns this Thursday, October 24 from 9:30-11:00 a.m.! Join instructor Karyn Macfarlane as she outlines the 6 Types of Working Genius, allowing participants to discover their natural gifts in work and life. When you better understand the types of work that bring fulfillment, you can be more self-aware, more productive, and more successful! Complimentary childcare will be provided.

Ignatius Book Fair

Ignatius Book Fairs will be back on campus this month for our annual book fair. Choose from two ways to shop:

Congratulations to the Beckman family on the birth of Luke Anthony! Baby Luke joins his four big siblings, including Embers students Patrick (5th), Ignatius (2nd), and Stephen (1st). A meal train for the family has been started HERE.
