Picture Re-Takes are Monday
VIP Photography will be on campus Monday for students who have registered for photo re-takes. If you would like to have your student participate and have not registered, please call the office at 847-518-1185 and leave a message by 8am Monday.
Did you know you can pick your student’s yearbook photo even if you’re not ordering photos? The final deadline to select a yearbook picture is November 10th. Look for an email from VIP Photography or click HERE to access your photos.

November Moms Club Gets Crafty!

Join us as presenters Sandra Checri and Mary Pat Fahy showcase how to create beautiful Fall-inspired centerpieces. This hands-on session will walk participants through each stage of the process, blending creativity and seasonal charm to craft beautiful decorations perfect for any autumn gathering!
$10 donation at the door to cover the cost of materials. Friends outside of Embers are always welcome!

Featured speaker and former Embers mom, Mary Paschall, will share practical insights on cultivating this important virtue within our families. Together, we’ll explore what gratitude truly means and how we can live it out in our homes and daily lives. All Embers moms and their friends are welcome!

Fall Book Fair: November 5-7
Jump-start your Christmas shopping at the Embers Book Fair! Join us in-person at Embers’ lobby, or set up an account to shop online by clicking HERE. Our school receives 20% of sales towards books for the school. Lobby shopping hours:
- Tuesday, Nov 4: Student Preview Day
- Wednesday, Nov 4: 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
- Thursday, Nov 5: 11:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
- Friday, Nov 6: 11:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

Embers Literacy Week: November 3-7
“Fall into Reading”
We have an exciting week of Literacy events! Highlights are listed below and complete details will be sent home on Wednesday.
- D.E.A.R. = Drop Everything and Read: Please make sure your students have a quality book that is appropriate for their reading level.
- Bookmark Contest: All Sparks are invited to participate in the annual Bookmark Contest. One winner will be selected per grade.
- “Pumpkin Pages” Reading Log: Full of fun ideas for reading at home! All Sparks who turn in a completed reading log will receive a fun treat.
- New! Pumpkin Decorating Contest (Optional): Families are invited to decorate a pumpkin to look like their favorite book character. Sparks will vote and the winning design will win a prize!

Dads Club: Having “The Talk”
Thursday, November 6 @ 7:00 p.m | Embers Lunchroom
Parents are in the best position to teach their children about the facts of life and should be the first to introduce these tough subjects. Join Northridge teacher Russell Fernandes and Embers dad Jince Lukose for an interactive discussion on how to confidently navigate this next stage of parenting. Better a year too early than five minutes too late!
