Spark Spotlight:
5th Grade Leadership Day
|
|
|
|
Our annual 5th Grade Leadership Days inspire students to grow as compassionate leaders through teamwork, service, and self-discovery.
Day one helps our Sparks focus inward with activities designed to build communication and empathy. On the second day, students explore the theme “how can I be the best Spark possible, even when it’s hard?” and work to spread kindness throughout the school. The event is highlighted by an afternoon visit from Northridge and Willows students who share their experiences in leadership, faith, and community service. The goal of these Leadership Days is to leave students encouraged to lead with integrity, compassion, and a genuine desire to make a positive difference!

Annual Fund: Gratitude & Growth
This past week reminded us of the deep sense of community that makes Embers Academy so special! During our Annual Fund Flower Day, students presented flowers to our school parents in appreciation of the ongoing support that helps Embers thrive. We also held our annual Phonathon, where Class Captains were able to personally connect with many of our school families. Thank you to our dedicated Captains!

Cold Weather Gear
This week, our teachers sent home “Cold Weather Bags” with each student. We ask that you fill these bags with gear for cold and snowy days: a pair of snow pants, gloves, boots, etc., to be used for daily outdoor play. These bags should be brought to school on Monday mornings and will be sent home on Friday afternoons – or after each use to be “dried out”. Students without proper snow gear will not be able to play in the snow.

Embers Ofrenda
Embers is once again building an Ofrenda to honor the recently departed. Students may bring in a picture of someone they know who has passed away in the last year and these photos will be included on the alter, located in the South Wing. We pray for the repose of all souls during the month of November.
