November Break Schedule
No School: Monday, November 20 – Friday, November 24

Thanksgiving at Embers

Pre-Thanksgiving week at Embers was full of fabulous food and plenty of fun:
  • PreK4 celebrated Thanksgiving with festive costumes and a home-cooked Thanksgiving meal. (Thank you to all our parents who prepared food for the feast!)

  • 5th Grade and Kindergarten got into the holiday spirit, sharing treats and laughter with their Mass Buddies.

  • And our 1st Graders created beautiful, colorful turkey masterpieces in Art class!

Last Call: Parent / Teacher Conferences

Conferences will be held in-person at Embers this Monday, November 20. The scheduler will close at 10:00 p.m. Sunday.

To be respectful of our teachers’ schedules, please note that formal conferences will only be held on Monday. If you plan to be out of town, please schedule your appointment and then contact your student’s teacher(s) to set up a virtual conference. If you do not contact your teacher, it will be assumed that you are doing an in-person conference.

Flowers for our Sparks!
This past Wednesday, the Development Team sent home a flower kit with each student. We hope these kits serve as a fun family moment to plant seeds of happiness. We are excited to all grow together!

A special thank you to our parent volunteers who helped put together the flower kits for all 200+ of our students: Amy Kessem & Gabby Katsantones!! Your time and talent are greatly appreciated.

The Annual Fund has currently raised nearly $189,000 towards our $250,000 goal!
We would LOVE to hit $200,000 by December 1st. Have you been waiting to participate? Now is the time; send your donation in today!

Cold Weather Gear

This weekend, our teachers sent home Cold Weather bags for each student. We ask that you fill these bags with gear for snowy days: a pair of snow pants, mittens, boots, etc. These items will stay at school and students will be using them during outdoor play. The bag will be sent home after each use to be “dried out”. Please have your bags returned to school by Monday, December 4.

Fire Choir @ Chicago Wolves
Congratulations to our Fire Choir on a fantastic performance at the Wolves game this past weekend! Our Sparks were the “Stars of the Jumbotron” as they performed a patriotic medley in honor of Veterans Day. Catch a quick video of their Allstate Arena debut here!

A special thank you to all who came out in support. More than 240 tickets were purchased by Embers families to celebrate our Sparks and cheer on the Wolves. What a great afternoon for our community!
