The Fourth Grade classes played kickball against each other last week. Mr. Covington’s class came out victorious! Thanks to Mr. Sadlowski for being an impartial umpire!

Pentecost Sunday

Sunday is the Feast of Pentecost, when the Holy Spirit descended upon the apostles, Mary, and the first followers of Jesus as they were gathered together in the Upper Room.

The Holy Spirit gave the apostles the gifts necessary to go out and preach the Gospel to all nations. Here are a few resources to help celebrate Pentecost.

  • Watch the “Pentecost Explained in Lego” video here.

  • Click here to find out how you can receive a Plenary Indulgence on Pentecost.

  • In this podcast, Fr. Javier del Castillo reflects on the spiritual transformation the Apostles went through upon receiving the Holy Spirit at Pentecost.

Year of St. Joseph

Click here to read about Five Spiritual Benefits From the Year of St. Joseph.

The following are brief explanations of the titles of St. Joseph recited in the Litany to St. Joseph.

Comfort of the Troubled – God’s mercy towards us is not just to give us comfort in our affliction, but so that we can be like St. Joseph and extend mercy and comfort to those around us, especially our families.

Hope of the Sick – God has healed many people through the intercession of St. Joseph. St. Theresa of Avila was miraculously cured of a terrible illness after praying to him.  St. Joseph offers hope in times of sickness.
