An Excellent Extravaganza!

The room was abuzz with over 200 people at Cafe la Cave last Saturday for our annual Extravaganza fundraiser. The lively evening was a wonderful opportunity for conversation, laughter, and community building as we shared our dreams for the future of Embers and all our Sparks.

We are so pleased to announce that, thanks to the generosity of our entire community, we were able to surpass our Extravaganza fundraising goal and raised over $317,000! Whether you were on hand that night to bid on our student artwork, put your name in for a sign-up party, sold some raffle tickets, or raised your paddle high to support our school, we are immensely thankful for your ongoing support. It is our pleasure to serve and support your students as they begin their educational career.

Once again, thank you to all who participated in our 2023 Extravaganza! Cafe la Cave could barely contain the exuberance of the evening (despite flashing the lights at the end of the evening), and we are already looking forward to next year’s event.

Our Wall of Dreams showcased Spark artwork that expressed their dreams for the future.

New this year was Heads-or-Tails. Over 60 participants did their best to guess the coin toss!

Once again our Sparks outdid themselves to create show-stopping auction artwork.

The Wine Pull quickly sold out this year! Wine & a gift card is always a “win”.

The Lukens gave a heartwarming address,  reminding us of all our dreams.

Our Paddle Raise was an invigorating display of the dedication to Embers.

Spark Party: Reptile Show is Available!

If you weren’t able to make it to the Extravaganza, no worries! There are still spots available for our Spark Party: Reptile Show. This exciting, educational, and interactive event (which replaces the Hotcakes with Heads breakfast) features reptiles from around the world. But this is not like other shows – OUR students are part of the experience. Who knows, your Spark may be called on to to touch, pet, hold, and handle animals that normally live behind glass at the zoo!

JG’s Reptile Show will be held in-school on the morning of Tuesday, April 4th. The cost is $60/student with a maximum of $75 for 3+ students.

To register your students for this experience, please fill out the form below and return with payment to the front office by Friday, March 28th. All proceeds benefit the Extravaganza fundraiser.

Spark’stravaganza Success

Extravaganza 2023 kicked off at home last Friday with the Spark’stravaganza! Students enjoyed an afternoon of Magic by Randy, a live performance from our Embers Band, a sneak peak at the Fire Choir music videos, and – of course – treats. It was a wonderful way to celebrate our Sparks’ Raffle Ticket success and start our celebrations!

Magic by Randy featured some funny tricks…

…hair raising tricks…

…magical tricks…

…and edge-of-your-seat entertainment!

March’s Virtue: Respect

Last Friday, our Kindergarten class taught us the importance of this month’s virtue, Respect. We are asking all students to help us show respect for human life by bringing donations for The Women’s Centers of Greater Chicagoland. Donations will be accepted after Spring Break, through the end of the month.
