Dear Parents, Alumni, and Friends of Embers Academy, 

Thirty years ago, a small group of dedicated parents in the Chicagoland area sought better educational options for their children. Even after months of searching, they couldn’t find a school that provided both a comprehensive academic education and the deep spiritual and human formation they desired. In response, these families took action and began generating ideas to create the best elementary school in the area. That was their goal; that was their dream. They called it Embers.

There have been challenges along the way, as you can imagine, and there were moments when the dream nearly came to an end. Now, 30 years later, that dream, which once began in the basement of a family home, is a vibrant reality. Today, over 150 families entrust their children to what we firmly believe is the best school in the area, the state, and probably the country.

Thanks to the generosity and sacrifices of hundreds of parents over the past 30 years, this dream continues to thrive. Embers, then and now, owes its existence to the dedication and support of those parents, who, along with teachers and staff, have devoted their lives to ensuring this dream continues to remain alive.

As we celebrate our 30th anniversary, we face new challenges and opportunities. The spirit and excitement that once sparked the founders’ hearts and minds are now in our hands and live within each of us. We experienced this firsthand just a year ago when, thanks to your commitment, Embers grew larger than ever. The new library, new lunchroom, and dedicated spaces for the Motor Lab, Embers Town, and Catechesis of the Good Shepherd are just a few tangible examples of your generosity from last year.

This year, we need to raise over $250,000 by New Year’s Eve to close the gap between tuition revenue and operational costs. Once again, Embers needs your support to keep the flame alive. Your contribution, no matter how big or small, will help us continue to pursue this amazing dream called Embers.
