Novena to the Immaculate Conception
On December 8th, we celebrate the feast of the Immaculate Conception of Our Lady. Since it is an important feast day, it is a custom in the Church to prepare for it with a novena – nine days of prayer.
There will be Mass each evening at 7:15 pm. Several priests will hear confessions starting 30 minutes before each Mass.
- Dates: November 30th to December 8th
- Time: 7:15 p.m.
- Place: St. Mary of the Angels Church, 1850 N. Hermitage Avenue, Chicago.
Embers students and families are invited to attend the Novena, particularly on December 3, where our Sparks participate in the Mass. All students should wear their Embers uniforms.

McKenna’s Bags Service Project
Thank you to everyone who sent in plastic grocery bags and other items for the McKenna’s Bags LTD service project! McKenna’s Bags recycles plastic grocery bags by turning them into sleep mats which keep people from sleeping on the cold ground. Our Preschool students assembled the bags of toiletries and the Fifth Grade class made blankets out of the plastic bags. These simple items made from everyday materials will bring warmth and comfort to many this winter!
