Next Friday, April 29, is the big day! Sparks can dress up as their favorite Narnia book character! Your student(s) may wear or bring an item that represents a character from the Narnia book that their grade is enjoying!

Full costumes are not required. Any item brought or worn should follow guidelines set in the Parent Handbook.

This event helps Embers stock our library with lots of books each year. Usborne Books and More gives us 50% of our Book Fair sales to spend on our classroom libraries. 

Students will preview the Book Fair on Tuesday and create a wish list to bring home. Teachers’ wish lists will also be available.

Dr. Matthew Mehan will be visiting our students via Zoom to discuss his experiences as an author and to lead a discussion on his books! 

Dr. Matthew Mehan is the Director of Academic Programs for Hillsdale College’s Washington D.C. campus and Assistant Professor of Government for the Van Andel Graduate School of Government.

He is the author of Mr. Mehan’s Mildly Amusing Mythical Mammals, a best-selling book of poems, and The Handsome Little Cygnet.  Signed copies of the books are available for purchase.

We’re looking for lunch monitors on Friday, May 6, so our teachers can enjoy a catered lunch together.
