EMBERS OPEN HOUSE

Many wonderful families visited Embers Open House on Wednesday. A very special thank you to everyone who helped make it a huge success.  Our next Open House is THIS Saturday, Feb. 3rd at 10 a.m. Please invite all your neighbors and friends.

NAT’L SCHOOL CHOICE WEEK

Last week was packed with fun and special activities. Monday’s assembly began with Mrs.Carolyn Murphy’s (from Uncle Pete’s) challenge to students to help others in need, both in and out of school. Everyone received a brown paper bag to return on Friday, filled with requested items to be donated as a sack lunch. We are proud to announce that 115 lunches were donated on Friday to Marillac Center Food Pantry in Chicago, where 50 people were already waiting to eat and to Marillac Center Project Hope for new mothers needing help. 
 
The students enjoyed special daily themes like ‘Krazy for Kindness, Socks Day’ and ‘Hats Off to Kindness Day’ and concluded the week with the National School Choice Week Dance.  

RE-ENROLLMENT: 2018 – 2019

Embers Academy is pleased to share with you that tuition costs will remain at the current rate for the 2018-2019 school year. The re-enrollment process through TADS will begin on Thursday, Feb. 1st. Watch for an email with additional information from TADS coming soon.

MOM’S CLUB THIS THURSDAY

All Embers moms are cordially invited to an evening of wine and friendship on Thursday, Feb. 7th from 7:30 – 9 p.m. at the Williams’ home in Glenview for ‘Fashion Tips’ by Katie Hinderer.

Embers Parent Association is excited to announce an afternoon of Mother & Son Bowling, pizza and fun on Saturday, Feb. 10th from 12:30 – 2:30 p.m. at Brunswick Zone in Niles.      See FLIER for more details. 
To attend this fun event, please RSVP by Monday, Feb. 5th.   

WILLOWS LIL’ SISTERS

Embers 5th grade girls enjoyed their special night at Willows Academy for Tuesday’s basketball game against U High. They helped cheer on the Willows team and really enjoyed the POMS half-time show!

The Parent Association’s ‘Coffee & Conversation’ was a big success. It was a fun and informative get together. Plan to join us for the next monthly ‘Coffee & Conversation’ on Friday, Feb. 23rd from 8:30 – 9:30 a.m.

FEELING SICK?

We are definitely into the cold and flu season. As many families are struggling to stay healthy, please remember to follow a few simple guidelines to keep the illness from spreading.
1. Wash hands frequently.
2. Don’t share food/drinks with others.
3. Sneeze/Cough into your elbow.
4. Do not send students to school if they have a fever or are throwing up.
5. Keep your child home at least 24 hours after their fever breaks.
6. Pray for an early spring and summer:)

SCHOOL CLOSING INFO

Should Embers need to close due to bad weather conditions, there are many ways to be notified. If you are included in the ‘REMIND’ cell phone option, a text will be sent to your phone. The Emergency Closing Center will also be notified. Closing info will then be available on the radio, TV, online or by email. Please click on the flier for more details.
