Embers’ annual Christmas concert will showcase our K-5 class choirs, Embers Band, and Fire Choir. Students should dress up in their Christmas best: dress pants, skirts or dresses, plus festive accessories such as ties, scarves or hair bows. (Please no t-shirts, jeans, or gym shoes.) We look forward to seeing everyone there for this festive evening!

In a rush for a pre-concert dinner? EPA has you covered!

Stop by Portillo’s before the concert and dine for a good cause! Mention “Embers Academy” at checkout and 20% of all sales will benefit the EPA, funding the teacher’s annual Christmas breakfast

EPA Poinsettia Pick-up

Thank you to all those who participated in the Embers Parents Association’s annual Poinsettia Fundraiser! Flower pickup will be held on Friday, December 8th. Please see next week’s newsletter for more information.

Uniform Updates Begin Monday

The following uniform guidelines will be enforced as of this Monday, November 27.

  • Girls K-3, Winter Uniform Update:
    • Leggings (optional): Fitted, navy, ankle-length leggings may be worn under the jumper throughout the day.
  • Girls 4-5, Winter Uniform Update:
    • Girls 4-5: Sweatpants (optional): Neutral color sweatpants (navy, black, grey) may be brought to school and worn during outdoor recess & gym classes.
    • Note: Sweatpants must be removed prior to entering the classroom. Leggings are not permitted in the classroom.
  • Gym Shoes K-5th:
    • Gym shoes: one pair of gym shoes will be left at school for gym days and recess.
  • Red Sweaters:
    • Sweater, cardigan, or vest is required to be worn on Mass days for boys in K-5 and girls in 4-5 Grades.

Embers Basketball
 

We’re half way through basketball season and our Embers Sparks are on fire! Their great shots, strong defense, and inspiring teamwork are on display each game. Way to go, Sparks!

A “Sweet Treat” at Willows Academy:

Novena Begins on Thursday
St. Mary of the Angels

 

To prepare for the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, St. Mary of the Angels Church will once again be hosting the Novena from Thursday, November 30 – Friday, December 8. Confessions and the Rosary begin at 6:45 p.m. and Mass begins at 7:15 p.m. Embers will be helping at the Mass on Saturday, December 2. The Mass will fulfill the Sunday Obligation, and all families are welcome to attend! Embers students are encouraged to wear their uniforms to the Mass.

Embers’ gifted Art Instructor, Denise Wasserman, will be walking Moms Club through creating beautiful wooden slice ornaments this month. Choose from several styles, or create your own! No experience necessary; this event is open to all ability levels. Join us for a dose of holiday spirit! This is a FREE Moms Club Event and friends outside of Embers are always welcome to join us! Cold Weather Gear
Last weekend, our teachers sent home Cold Weather bags for each student. We ask that you fill these bags with gear for snowy days: a pair of snow pants, mittens, boots, etc. These items will stay at school and students will be using them during outdoor play. The bag will be sent home after each use to be “dried out”. Please have your bags returned to school by Monday, December 4.
