We are saddened to announce the passing of a dear friend and former Embers parent, Molly Kurt. After a long battle with cancer, Molly was born into eternal life on Friday, August 19 at 8:20 a.m. She was the mother of four Embers Spark alums: Caroline ‘16; Jack ‘17; Michael ‘19; and Thomas ‘20.
Molly, with her husband, John, were steadfast in their support of Embers’ mission, as well as our big-brother and big-sister schools, Northridge Prep and Willows Academy. Molly’s greatest attribute was her ability to always live for others. Her selflessness and thoughtfulness was constant and natural in the way she carried out her life. She demonstrated this throughout her years as a parent at Embers and beyond, as her children continued at the other two schools.
Molly was a devoted and loving wife, mother and loyal friend. We are grateful for her unwavering dedication to supporting Embers’ mission which extended beyond her children’s attendance. Molly always found time to share her many gifts with all three schools, especially by her attentiveness towards ensuring new families felt welcome to our community. Whether by providing her expert advice in employment law or serving refreshments at a school event, Molly embodied the Christian principle of giving of self.
Please keep her husband and children in your prayers.
– Dedication by Mrs. Lisa Hanretty
