We loved seeing all our families back at Embers this past Thursday for the Parent Teach Conferences and the Back-to-School Fair!

Friday, September 9th will be our first monthly Virtue Assembly & Spirit Day of the year.  Don’t forget to wear your red Embers Spirit Shirts – with casual bottoms! – to school. (Kids whose shirts are back-ordered may have a one-time exemption to wear any “Embers red” shirt.)

If you have not yet purchased a Spirit Shirts, those shirts and all uniforms can be purchased through Dennis Uniform using School Code G24GV.

Uniform Delays
We are aware that there are currently some uniform delays from Dennis. If your items are on backorder, your student may wear a dress, jumper, skirt; pants (no jeans); and white collared shirt. Please no sweats, jeans or gym shoes.

We hope you enjoyed seeing our updated lobby during Parent Teacher Conferences! Please remember that we have revised our drop-off and pickup procedures to utilize this space:

All Drop Offs and K-5 Pickups
Traffic may enter from either the Greenwood Ave or Normal Ave entrances and merge in the North Lot. Cars will then proceed to the new Drop-off / Pickup Zone in the front circle and maintain a single lane along the curb.

PreK Half-Day Pickups
Traffic will enter and merge as above then proceed to the new Drop-off / Pickup Zone in the front circle and form a double lane along each curb. The lanes will be dismissed once all students have been loaded into their cars.

Full-day Preschool Pickups

Full-day preschool families will continue to park in the Church lot and walk to the West Porch to collect their students. When exiting, please use the Normal Ave. driveway.

(If your PK Full-day student has siblings in K-5th grades, they will dismiss together at the front circle through the new procedure detailed above.)

To foster greater presence in the classroom, we will be updating our faculty email procedures as of Tuesday, September 6th. Once the school day has begun, teachers will refrain from viewing and responding to emails until the end of the school day. If you have time-sensitive communication, please contact the school office directly.

Encouraged Reading: K-5th grade
Complete extra reading and a small assignment to be entered into the raffle for your classroom.

Saxon Math Review Packets: 1st – 5th grade
Complete a review packet and submit it to your teacher on Tuesday, September 6 to be entered into the raffle for your classroom.
